Job Description
I am supporting an established UK Developer for a Grid Engineer position, the projects will be predominantly utility-scale ground-mount solar and battery storage projects. They are private equity backed and have a track record of developing hundreds of MW's in the UK. This hire will be the third engineer in the specialist grid team.
Roles and Responsibilities
Attend industry and engagement conferences and events to maintain relationships with
DNOs/IDNOs/TNO/ICPs,
and other relevant technology partners the business works with
Monitor and report on grid connection progress and performance.
Assist in preparing and submitting grid connection applications and managing the approval process
Support in liaising with grid operators, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with grid connection requirements and regulations.
Running electrical power system studies using PSSE, Power Factory or similar power system software is a plus.
Skills and Experience:
Degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering, but other disciplines accepted.
Comfortable initiating contact and building relationships with the DNOs, TNOs, ICPs, EPCs, and other 3rd party advisors.
Knowledge of grid connection regulations and energy markets is a plus.
Understanding of the G99 process, Grid Code, CUSC, and other distribution and transmission policies.
