Grid Engineer - Solar / BESS / PV (Renewable Energy)We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient individual to join our team as a Grid Engineer to provide technical support on projects from early-stage origination to operation across a wide range of technologies including solar, battery energy storage, wind, and more.About UsWe have been operating in the power section for over 40 years, developing over $5.5 billion of assets across a wide range of conventional and renewable generation. We are a direct affiliate of a world leading infrastructure investment funder.Established to provide the group with enhanced capability in project origination, development, asset management and revenue optimisation. Projects developed or supported by us are intended to be dedicated for future investment by our funder via its managed funds. Our three primary areas of focus are:Utility scale renewables, with a focus on solar and battery storage.Distributed energy solutions and Community Energy Networks.Grid support infrastructure.The team works closely with the investment and asset management teams across the US, UK and Australian power markets.What you will be doingCarrying out review of the NGs and DNOs long term development statements.Review of the DNO heatmaps, embedded generator registerGain insight into the Statement of works for various Grid Supply Points Setup connection surgeries with DNOs, SPT, SHET and NG.Submit and coordinate pre-application and formal grid applications.Develop and maintain tools including Grid design drawing templates.Work closely with development team to support grid lead strategyTo work effectively in a team environment Site visit may be required to support grid development initiatives Support development of design standard including scope documentation to aid procurement of long lead equipment.Develop cost estimates related with balance of plant (BOP) scope.Essential Skills & ExperienceBachelor of Electrical Engineering (preference – power systems)Experience in AutoCAD, use of power system design modelling tools i.e. Power factory, Elek Good understanding of UK grid code requirements for distribution and transmission connections Effective communication skills written & oralGood personal organisation Proactive Team Player
