About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance duties, including mowing, edging, and trimming lawns


• Plant and maintain flowers, trees, and shrubs


• Apply fertilisers, herbicides, and pest control treatments as directed


• Operate and maintain grounds keeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers


• Remove litter and debris from landscapes, walkways, and parking areas


• Perform basic irrigation system maintenance and adjustments


• Assist in the installation of hardscaping features like paths or retaining walls


• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations


• Report any issues or potential hazards to the supervisor

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a related field


• Knowledge of plants, landscaping techniques, and grounds keeping equipment


• Ability to operate powered grounds maintenance equipment safely


• Valid driving licence


• Basic understanding of health and safety practices in grounds maintenance

Desired Skills

• Horticultural qualifications or relevant certifications


• Experience with sustainable landscaping practices


• Knowledge of irrigation systems and basic repairs


• Ability to read and interpret landscape plans
