Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) is part of leading independent global bus manufacturer NFI Group. With vehicles in service in the UK, Ireland, across Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Mexico, Canada and the United States, ADL is a global leader in the design and manufacture of double deck buses and is also the UK’s largest bus and coach manufacturer under the Alexander Dennis and Plaxton brands.The company is now seeking to appoint a Group Aftermarket Director. As a member of the Alexander Dennis and NFI Executive Leadership Teams, the role will be responsible for leading the development, execution and delivery of a strategy to grow market share, revenue and profitability of the Aftermarket function globally.Key Responsibilities Full P&L responsibility for the Aftermarket business, covering parts and service, ensuring top and bottom-line growth.Translating customer and market needs into a clear strategy and action plan to grow the business, expanding into new profitable countries and markets, ensuring strategy and action plan is executed.Leadership and development of teams of direct and in-direct (internal and external) stakeholders over multiple locations and time zones to live the Alexander Dennis values by living them every day and being a role model and champion of the AD and NFI values and culture.Leadership and development of the total Aftermarket team in the areas of performance, organisational design, recruitment, retention, communication, employee engagement, training, and compensation programmes.Accountability for development and execution of annual budget and monthly reforecasting, presenting this to stakeholders across the Alexander Dennis and NFI Group.Executive level sponsor for group wide projects and initiatives – in particular, the driving force behind product reliability and vehicle availability initiatives internally.Personal responsibility for business development and key account management activities.Escalation point for customers, with responsibility for ensuring that reliability, warranty and campaign issues raised are being addressed internally.Attendance at industry events, promoting the full range of Alexander Dennis products and services.Working with colleagues in Engineering to ensure that market and industry trends drive the New Product Development and Current Model Engineering agenda.To provide a safe working environment for all employees, suppliers and customers, pro-actively driving forward the H&S agenda.Skills & ExperienceCustomer and global market focused with the ability to understand business needs in the short and long term.Commercially focused and financially astute, with previous ownership of a sizable P&L (inc. budgeting and forecasting).Strong leadership and management skills over multiple sites, cultures, and time zones; restructuring, recruiting, performance, mentoring and motivating highly successful teams to deliver exceptional customer service.Formation and execution of long-term digital strategy covering parts, service and other connected elements.Experience in sales/large tenders/bid process, with a broad mix and understanding of Business Development and Key Account Management.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including enhanced influencing and negotiating at all levels internally and externally.Highly IT literate, being comfortable with Microsoft Office, as well as specialist BI / CRM / ERP systems.Able to think and develop plans at a strategic level and deliver tactically.Strong presentation skills, comfortable presenting complex data to Board level.Ideally knowledgeable and experienced with the full end-to-end, order-to-cash elements of the business (Commercial, Engineering, Procurement, Operations and Support Functions).An understanding of and experience within the bus and coach sector would be advantageous.To apply, please submit a CV to #####.
