Summary of the Group Financial Accountant role
As the Group Financial Accountant, you will report directly to the Group Financial Controller working on a hybrid basis.
The main purpose of your role will be to manage the group's financial data, prepare financial reports and ensure the group complies with accounting regulations.
Although you will have no direct line management responsibilities you will work closely with the finance teams across our sites in the UK, Europe and US to manage key deliverables.

Your responsibilities


  • Preparing annual financial statements:

    • Group accounts and statutory accounts for all relevant jurisdictions. This includes consolidation, narrative reporting (including Environmental, Social and Governance) and coordination with external auditors.
  • Accounting policies, finance processes and controls:

    • Ensure that the group accounting manual is maintained and updated as required (whether due to changes in the business or external/regulatory changes).
    • Disseminate changes/updates to the site teams and support with any alignments required.
    • Key accounting policy areas include revenue recognition and impairment considerations.
  • Corporate entities:

    • Maintain general ledgers and accounting records for non-trading entities within the group.
  • Intercompany:

    • Loan interest calculations, intercompany recharges and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Tax:

    • Coordination of internal and external resources in respect of corporation tax returns, R&D tax credit claims, capital allowances claims, etc.
  • Support the annual update to global insurance policies.

Requirements for the role


  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of accounting, computerised accounting systems and accounting data analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to analyse trends and give insights on business performance.
  • Proficient in Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong team player attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the team.
