Blair West are supporting a PLC in County Durham with the appointment of a Group Financial Controller. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will lead a small team (three) playing a key part in the Company’s growth with regular engagement with the C-Suite.
The incoming Group Financial Controller will ideally be ambitious, with international manufacturing experience, alongside a strong technical accounting understanding across IFRS.
The opportunity:
* Lead a small finance team with day-to-day responsibility for the finance function.
* Ownership of the consolidated Group management accounts and legal entity management accounts within the Group globally
* Drive the annual business plan process and monthly business re-forecast.
* Monthly overhead cost review ensuring effective cost management.
* Balance sheet control and working capital management.
* Business case investment appraisals.
* Treasury management.
* Lead on year-end audit, preparation of statutory accounts for the Group and subsidiaries prepared under full IFRS.
* Tax compliance and preparation of tax computations.
* Input into improvement of Group’s controls and business processes ensuring integrity, accuracy and transparency of the systems.
* Continuous improvement pf financial processes driving automation and streamlining of business processes.
* Provide support to the CFO on various ad-hoc projects.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you're:
* A qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA).
* Ambitious and willing to take ownership and solve problems.
* Flexible with your approach to support business requirements.
* Strong at communicating and liaising with other departments and external stakeholders.
* Organised with an attention to detail.
* Good with your IT skills.
