The Group Joint Chief Medical Officer is a pivotal role to our future success as we push to improve the care and services for the people of Greater Manchester and beyond. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer and working collaboratively with our current Group Joint Chief Medical Officer, the ideal candidate will provide inspirational leadership, with strong values that match ours and role model an unwavering drive to deliver the strategic ambition of the Trust as an anchor organisation in healthcare for the city of Manchester and borough of Trafford. You will be achievement-focused with a track record of leading service improvement in a complex environment and working collaboratively across systems. Applicants will bring significant experience as a medical leader within a large NHS provider, preferably a Teaching Trust, with a proven ability in consistently delivering clinical effectiveness and patient safety. Main duties of the job As a key member of the Group Executive Director team, you will provide strategic and operational advice to the Group Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors and be expected to deliver on a range of clinical / patient safety and related objectives. You will provide highly visible leadership to the medical and dental workforce across all Trust sites, engaging and empowering them to achieve excellence in the delivery of patient care. Innovative and creative in your thinking, you will make decisions that encourage new ways of working to develop a culture of improvement, contributing to the development and implementation of the internal clinical service redesign, ensuring the Trust remains at the forefront of service delivery and clinical service innovation in line with any potential changes to the external environment. You will also be expected to maintain strong working relationships with system partners to facilitate delivery of the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Strategy. Person Specification Qualifications - Academic / Professional Essential High level of general education to degree level or equivalent. Second degree/master's level qualification in a related subject or equivalent knowledge, training and experience. Track record of continuous personal and professional development. Skills, Knowledge Requirements & Experience - Strategic Leadership Essential Significant experience as a medical leader within a large NHS provider, preferably a Teaching Trust. Desirable Significant executive director experience in a similarly complex organisation or system.
