UTEC are looking to source a Group Project Manager on a full time, permanent basis. The Group Project Manager is responsible for safely and profitably executing assigned projects, initiating, and encouraging communication between all concerned parties including customers, suppliers, and both onshore and offshore Company staff. The Group Project Manager will continually monitor and improve procedures to ensure quality results are achieved.
The Group Project Manager will be allocated projects across the GeoServices Group as required, to support heavy workloads in various Business Units, when not engaged in Project Management tasks, the Group Project Manager will support the UTEC Technical Team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage complete lifecycle of projects, from award phase, through planning, execution, monitoring, completion, and closeout phases, as well as post-completion evaluation and review.
- Completion of project risk assessments prior to mobilization.
- Confirm and accept transfer of project material generated during the bid stage to project teams, including contract requirements, technical specifications, and commercial terms needed for proper execution of projects.
- Oversee project execution and be responsible for identification, documentation, and action on contractual variations as they arise.
- Participate in quality control of final deliverables to client.
- Advise Operations Management of personnel requirements for projects.
- Source project equipment both internally and externally for project execution.
- Liaise with clients on Company execution of projects and recording of Key Performance Indicators.
- Identify and mitigate potential technical, commercial, QHSE risks for assigned projects.
- Administer and manage specific project tasks.
- Liaise with internal logistics personnel to coordinate offshore staff and equipment mobilization.
- Conduct site and client visits as required.
- Utilize the appropriate procedures, work instructions, and forms within the IMS to properly facilitate compliance with Company standards.
- Provide technical input to bidding process as required.
- Promote Company services during day-to-day contact with existing and potential clients.
- Attend promotional events as required.
- Monitor project costs against revenue daily, and provide weekly and monthly tracking reports of estimated revenues and costs
- Liaise with Cost Controller to ensure timely and accurate tracking of financials
- Regularly review project costs within the timeframe required for accounting department to process and report at regional monthly P&L meeting
- Create/Approve supplier Purchase Orders and invoices for procurement within the timeframe required for the accounting department to process and report at regional monthly P&L meeting
- Make recommendations for CAPEX and complete Approval for Expenditure (AFE) as required.
- Conduct personnel performance reviews/appraisals for your direct reports on any given project and provide specific performance data/feedback to supervisors of non-direct reports assigned to your projects.
- Help identify HSE, technical and personal development training needs within the Company.

- Interpret and apply all the above duties and principles to any company / department projects, assignments, or secondments
Required
- Minimum MS / BS degree level.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience within the offshore survey industry.
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work both independently and within teams.
- Must hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the Company routinely operates.
