The primary function of the role is to be responsible for the day to day management of payment approvals and foreign currency hedging.  This will include being the key conduit for banking relationships, managing borrowings and administering foreign exchange hedging transactions.  The role will also involve support with any other banking products as required from time to time
What will the Treasury Accountant role involve?


  • To manage the day to day aspects of the organisation’s banking relationships.
  • To ensure periodic reporting of all group cash balances, identifying potential cash shortfalls or currency exposures.
  • To manage the payment run process, including primary responsibility for being the first approver of all payments in the required banking systems.
  • To own and enhance group policies for Treasury management, including documented risk mitigation strategies.
  • To manage Group funds to spread risk and maximise investment income consistent with the risk/return criteria agreed with the Finance Director.
  • To work with the Group Financial Controller to review output of budgeting processes and provide analysis to determine foreign currency exposures and develop appropriate hedging strategies for approval by the Finance Director.
  • Liaison with banks and other approved financial institutions to execute approved hedging contracts.
  • To monitor bank service fees and negotiate improvements where necessary.
  • To recommend, implement and maintain improvements in cash management processes.

Suitable Candidate for the Treasury Accountant vacancy:


  • Influences others to comply with in-house procedures and systems.
  • Good Experience of Balance sheet review and reconciliation (essential).
  • Knowledge of Netsuite would be desirable but not essential.
  • Relevant Accounting Qualification or Qualified by experience.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage upwards.
  • Knowledge and experience of operating in multiple currencies and foreign exchange hedging instruments.
  • Proven understanding of accounting and cash flow reporting.
  • Good networking / influencing skills to ensure effective working relationships are established within the peer group and with external advisors.
  • The ability to work effectively with teams in other locations and time zones.

Additional benefits and information for the role of Financial Accountant:


  • A 10% employer contribution to a Group Personal pension plan (the employee is not required to make any contributions to the scheme).
  • The opportunity to participate in the Employee Matched Savings Scheme under which you can contribute up to 5% of your salary and the company will match this contribution on a “pound for pound” basis. (after 6 months).
  • Up to 22.5% discretionary performance bonus.
  • After 6 months, 5% flexible benefits spend (company gives the individual an amount equal to the 5% of their salary to spend on various benefits or they can chose to invest this amount into their pension).
