Hardware Design Engineer

Skills
* 10 Years plus in electronics design engineering
* Prototyping experience
* In-depth knowledge of design for manufacture and design for test.
* Process enhancement by working with manufacturing team to identify opportunities to enhance efficiency to reduce development time and improve device functionality
* Mathematics - this role requires an excellent grasp of mathematics and particularly thorough knowledge of math related to circuitry, signal switching, and processing.
* Analytical thinking - Effective analytical skills and the ability to process data and derive insights from that data is vital
* Communication skills - written and verbal communication is also important in this role, since the position has the responsibility for creating build documentation packs and specifications for the designs that are created.
Responsibilities
* Review project requirements and make a clear plan for a solution to fulfill the project.
* Provide technical support for manufacturing when and if issues arise
* Use CAD software create Schematics and PCB layouts taking into account Functionality, Design for Manufacture and EMC performance
* Finding alternative components when existing parts become hard to source
* Liase with external Sales and Field Application Engineers to ensure selected components are fit for purpose, available and cost effective
* Test assembled prototypes for electrical performance
* Writing basic firmware to check the operation of Prototype peformance
* Prepare design documentations and engineering specifications according to company standards
* Review and recommend changes to existing designs to improve performance and quality
* Perform root cause analysis of design issues and develop effective resolutions
* Creating FMEA reports to company standards
