We are seeking a skilled Contract Hardware Development Engineer to join our team. Collaborate with software, firmware, electronics, and mechanical engineers to develop advanced medical devices and test rigs.
Key Responsibilities
- Create technical documentation for hardware
- Design complex circuits from specifications
- Perform ad hoc tasks as directed
- Solder and change minor components
- Conduct PCB rework, cuts, and straps
- Set up and test PCBs
- Use basic bench equipment
- Discuss designs with team members
- Work independently
- Design schematics and make layout changes in Altium
- Recommend and implement PCB design changes
- Collaborate with software and layout engineers
- Mentor junior staff
- Manage and update library control
- Design for test and manufacture
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in electronics hardware development
- Strong understanding of end-to-end hardware and integration
- Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques for volume production
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated and proactive
Desirable Experience
- Fluid/air handling, motion control systems, optical sensors, thermal control systems
- Medical device development to ISO 13485, high reliability, safety-critical, and automotive environments
- Reviewing designs and planning for cost reductions
- Working with interdisciplinary, international teams
- FMEA and similar processes
- EMC and safety testing

- Primary work location: Scale Space, with some off-site work possible
