We are looking to recruit an experienced and innovative Head Chef, with a proven background, to lead and manage all aspects of our kitchen operations at our high-end wedding and events barn, located in the beautiful setting of West Dean, just 10 minutes from Chichester (Farbridge, PO18 0JT)
At Farbridge, we pride ourselves on every menu being different, following the seasons, using the freshest ingredients, cooking and serving restaurant-quality dishes. Were passionate about learning new techniques, bringing unique ideas into the kitchen and embrace making as much as we can from scratch, from a large variety of breads to pastries, to pickles and ferment.

What youll do
As the Head Chef, you will oversee all operations, to include:
All food production, sourcing, ordering and handling of produce and supplies
Establishing and maintaining relationships with produce suppliers
Leading, managing and mentoring a team of kitchen staff
Delivering the highest standard of food quality, presentation and hygiene
Managing kitchen budgets, to include food costs, staffing and waste reduction
Hands on and personalised approach with each of our clients, creating and designing individual menus tailored to them
Who we are looking for.
Proven knowledge and experience as a Senior Sous Chef, or Head Chef, from an events venue or event catering background is necessary.
Energy, spirit and strong leadership skills to train, mentor and manage a team of growing chefs, guiding them to deliver outstanding food, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation as well as strengthening relationships and inspiring our events team.
A confident, creative and imaginative flair is important in guiding our customers to create their very own menu.
Strong communication skills to adapt to both customers, kitchen staff and the wider team, communicating information, thoughts and ideas clearly in a friendly and personable approach.
Excellent organisational and planning skills are required for ordering, team rotas, menu costing, stock takes, food preparation and storage.
To have high standards and expectations concerning food hygiene standards and safety guidelines in the kitchen.
The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for food, a keen eye for detail and have proven knowledge and experience in inspiring, leading and managing a team to deliver an exceptional customer dining experience and demonstrating our ability as a company.
