Interaction Recruitment have partnered up with one of Buckinghamshire’s most prestigious schools in the region and they are now seeking their next Head Chef to work on a full time basis.

Salary up to £45’000 per annum (based on 40 hours per week) plus benefits.

Role

-          This is a hands on Head Chef role where you’ll be more focussed quality and motivating your team

-          There won’t be much (if any) admin and you will not be responsible for any purchasing, budgeting or rota management

-          Your rota will be day shifts, 5 out of 7 days maybe having to work 1 weekend per month

-          Approximately 75% of your working week will be Monday to Friday

-          You’ll be finished and on your way home by 20:00 latest, giving you a better work-life balance

-          Overtime will be paid or time in lieu will be offered

-          You will be working from fresh as 95% of the menu is fresh produce

-          At this venue, you will be exposed to private dining functions, charity evenings, weddings, school dining, fine dining (taster menus), outdoor events and pop up barbeques for example

About

-          Currently, there are 8 Chefs and an Executive Chef working in the kitchen

-          Next year the venue has secured 15 wedding functions to cater for

-          The team will be growing as we enter 2025 and they’ll be more career opportunities for the right people

-          The school is part of a wider group, the growth of this client is exponential

-          The team in the kitchen will be expanding to up to 15 chefs, due to extra catering demands

Candidate

-          Will currently work as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef

-          Must be adverse in high quality and high volume cuisine

-          Should evident working history in the form of up to date CV and references

-          Will possess excellent food knowledge, people skills and time management

-          Shall be passionate, energetic, focussed, adaptable and diverse in personality

-          Can think on their feet and work under pressure

-          Might hold an enhanced DBS certificate and be part of the DBS update service

-          Would be willing to learn as it is key the whole team work in unison

-          Could switch between fine dining and hospitality cuisine

-          Has vast experience in a similar environment

-          Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle

Interview process

-          1 hour meet and greet with the Executive Chef and F&B Director

-          5 hour trade test and small cook off of which will likely include you making 2 starters and 2 mains

-          You may be invited in for a follow up meeting depending on how the first two meetings go
