About the Role This is your chance to showcase your culinary prowess and take full ownership of a dynamic kitchen environment. As Hospitality Head Chef, you will deliver exquisite dishes across multiple floors, including a busy fine dining PDR (Private Dining Room) offering Michelin-level cuisine. You will also lead and inspire a talented team of 5 chefs and 2 kitchen porters, ensuring the highest standards of excellence.

Role Purpose
Reporting in to the Lead Food Architect you will lead the craft team day to day and work alongside the service team to deliver an experience that is exciting, exceptional and inspirational at all times. You will oversee the day to day running of the shift and use your demonstrable culinary skills, and creative mind-set to ensure that all people wo connect with food are kept safe and that we meet both our customer and company requirements. You will be a natural show person, obsessed with food and on top of trends, with excellent organisational and communication skills to boot.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the LFA to deliver the Campus food strategy
Organise & control the efficient and effective running of the service whilst inspiring the team members.
Utilising a hands on approach whilst maintaining a strategic eye for the development of business, and team members.
To work alongside other work streams, e.g. the Curated Experience team to deliver events and experiences that are literally the talk of the Campus and the town
Oversee the standard and quality of all food & drink; you and your team are responsible for ensuring the items that leave the kitchen are to spec, and have the wow factor. If it isnt right, we change it!
Keep your ear close to the ground! Tell us what the customer wants and how we keep our clients happy and coming back. Shout about your successes!
To be audit ready at all times and achieve the highest possible standard, e.g. finance, HS, FS, internal inspections, etc.
Conduct daily service briefings
To drive a One Team Culture, provision of an integrated service.
Keep our colleagues and the Barclays colleagues, visitors and clients safe with our safety-first mentality while they are in our care, using the safety tools available to you
Support each other to implement new services, operational change and events so as we can continuously optimize the campus and customer experience
J OB D ESCRIPTION
Health & Food Safety:
To support the LFA to ensure all company and statutory regulations pertaining to health & safety, hygiene & fire are adhered to at all times and that they operate to meet the budget requirements and deliver the required service standards.
To lead your service and experience team to ensure all company and statutory regulations pertaining to health and food safety and to be a safety ambassador at all times
Ensure all due diligence and compliance processes are carried out as required
Ensure the timely reporting of all risks. Support the proactive completion of corrective action plans emanating from site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
Ensure that all ISS staff have the required level of PPE and are conversant in its use and that all equipment used in the service delivery is fit for purpose and tested in accordance with H&S and statutory requirements.

Deliver regular craft training sessions to keep the brigade motivated and to hone and improve existing skills
Create work schedules and plans
To effectively communicate with the service team on a regular basis, including monthly documented team/safety briefings and daily service briefings. The team need to be up to date and motivated!
Ensure the team have the right tools for the job! To do this you will ensure accurate SOPs are in place, and regularly review their kit, seeking feedback on what works for them and what doesnt. Report any shortfalls to ensure the team can work effectively at all times.
Show recognition and appreciation! Utilise reward schemes for team members both in and outside of your team who deserve praise and thanks.
To assess training needs through job chats and the appraisal system, and to also provide cross training opportunities to your team and the wider Campus team.
Proactively champion the timely completion staff surveys and improved ways of working.
Collaborate with other business areas in the building to support them and actively find ways to talent share with other work streams
To promote the Health and Wellbeing of staff by ensuring that working conditions and rotas are supportive of this, and promoting an open door policy to support team with any challenges they may be experiencing
To champion company wellbeing, CSR and engagement initiatives.
Create and deliver succession planning, ensuring talent is being retained by the Company, and team are aware of development opportunities
Competently and fairly carry out HR processes from initial investigation through to disciplinary stages
Carry out job chats and appraisals
Financial:
Provide input/support to identify sales growth and cost saving initiatives to work towards financial targets
Manage costs by ensuring recipes are followed, and production and wastage is controlled
To carry out regular stock checks and other financial control procedures as required
Ensure labour costs are controlled and the hours scheduled for yourself and those on shift with you are adhered to, unless management consent is provided to exceed these, based on business needs
To ensure all stores and other areas of potential loss are secured at all times.
Deputize in the absence of the Lead Food Architect or other craft roles
To assist at any special duties or functions which may fall outside of normal working hours
To attend things such as; courses and training sessions, competitions, trade shows, competitor reviews, as and when required
To relieve and assist in other areas within the unit or other establishments as required
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
SCQF Level 8 minimum or equivalent cookery qualification
Exceptional leadership skills with core competencies around kitchen operational and service excellence, delivering a vision, personable leadership and team engagement
Over 3 years experience in a similar role in large scale high end catering and/or fast casual food service outlets
Must be IT literate and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Essential to possess innovative qualities and highly capable of taking an active lead role within a dynamic team
Must be able to identify and resolve issues and challenges to meet and exceed the expectations of our client
