Head of Applications - Leading Insurance companyPermanent Role, London, Hybrid (2-3x a week in office)£125,000 Base Salary + Bonus + BenefitsA new exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Engineering to join a specialist insurance firm to lead and bring out the best of their hard-working IT teams! As the Head of Application Development, you'll be responsible for leading the software development function (Portal, Microsoft Business Apps, Finance Systems, In-house Apps and 2nd line app support teams), overseeing technical best practices within the team and having a core role to get value and quality service for vendors/suppliers. As they continue to define their offering to their insurance partners, there will be a focus on enforcing excellent software best practices, bringing out the best in the existing team and moving away from legacy tech to invest more in Power Platform and Power Apps. You'll also have the opportunity to move into Director level and take ownership of the technology roadmap - so if career opportunities is important to you, this will be the perfect role!To be successful in this role, you'll have a background in regulated industries and software development (ideally .Net), knowledge of Power Platform ecosystem or willingness to research and extensive experience across vendor and budget management. We are looking for someone who has:Experience of managing teams across several functions (Microsoft enterprise focused, legacy .Net team, portal platform and finance systems) Strong budget management experience within a regulated organization Direct line management of 5 based in London, however also overseeing teams of 5 across different business functions Extensive experience with vendor and contract management, getting value and quality service from suppliers Experience in a fast-paced, large functioning IT team, with a knack for driving improvements to streamline application development across multiple development teams A background in development, preferably C#/.Net and understanding across Power Apps and Power Platform ecosystemStrong communication and senior stakeholder management skillsBackground in managerial positions within Financial services or a highly regulated industry Bonus: Insurance knowledge! This is a hybrid working role in Central London (2-3 days in the office). They are looking to pay up to £125,000 per annum base salary + bonus + benefits.
