Designed in the early 1960s by Sir Alec Issigonis, the father of the Austin Mini, the Mini MOKE quickly gained cult status in the French Riviera, Australia, and the Caribbean. James Bond and Brigitte Bardot were both early converts. Having acquired the original MOKE trademark and over 100 other related marks globally, in 2021 MOKE recommenced production in the UK. Over 500 new generation MOKEs have been built to date. In 2022 it was the first heritage automotive brand to go 100% Electric with street legal MOKEs now being sold across the Caribbean, Europe, the USA and beyond. The company is now focussing more closely on the rental opportunity, particularly with hotels and resorts. We envisage a MOKE on charge within a frisbee throw of all the world s best beach properties Job Description The Head of Business Development will play a critical role in shaping and executing MOKE s growth strategy. The focus will be building out a unique car rental business in association with local partners in the EU and USA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, excellent strategic thinking skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth and market expansion. Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential markets, partnerships, and distribution channels. Build and maintain strong relationships with local partners in the EU and USA to establish and grow the car rental business. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development, to align business development efforts with overall company goals. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decision-making. Negotiate and close high-value deals and partnerships. Monitor and report on business development performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Focus on promoting MOKE s unique rental offerings, which are positioned at a premium rate compared to other brands. Qualifications Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with a track record of driving growth and achieving targets. Experience in at least one of the following industries: automotive, rental, hospitality, tech, or a dynamic start-up. Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills (including contracts) Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
