Head of Compliance

A fast-growing financial services company is seeking a skilled
Head of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs
to take ownership of their compliance function across multiple regions. You will be responsible for driving compliance strategies, building strong internal processes, and ensuring that the company operates within regulatory requirements across the UK and Europe.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage compliance teams across the UK and Europe, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance framework, including policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Lead the compliance monitoring program, assessing and improving the effectiveness of existing controls.
Act as the company’s MLRO, leading Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing initiatives.
Provide strategic advice to teams across the business, ensuring compliance throughout the product and service lifecycle.
Act as the main point of contact for regulators, overseeing regulatory applications and responding to compliance-related inquiries.
Stay informed of regulatory developments and make necessary updates to the company’s compliance framework.
Advise senior management on compliance strategy and regulatory risks, presenting regular reports and updates.
Skills and Experience:
Strong background in senior compliance roles within financial services, particularly in payments, banking, or investment sectors.
Extensive knowledge of UK and EU regulatory environments, including AML/CTF, GDPR, and financial crime regulations.
Previous experience with regulatory bodies and in managing regulatory applications.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to build and manage compliance teams.
Professional certifications in compliance are desirable but not essential.
Strong analytical mindset, with exceptional communication and organisational skills.
