As Head of Conveyancing, you'll lead the entire conveyancing department - managing performance, compliance, team development, and strategic goals. You'll also handle your own caseload, with assistant support, ensuring that service delivery remains personal and efficient.

This role offers the perfect mix of senior leadership and hands-on legal practice.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee the operational, financial, and strategic performance of the conveyancing department.
  • Directly manage the conveyancing and support teams, nurturing a high-performing culture.
  • Run your own caseload of residential property matters, with assistant support.
  • Set departmental KPIs and targets, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives.
  • Implement continuous improvements to systems, processes, and client service.
  • Maintain full compliance with CQS, SRA, and all regulatory obligations.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and onboarding within the team.
  • Act as the key contact for referrers and contribute to developing new business opportunities.
  • Produce regular MI and performance reports for senior leadership.
  • Foster collaboration with other departments across the PM Law Group.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in residential conveyancing across a wide range of transactions.
  • Proven leadership or management experience within a legal team.
  • Exceptional knowledge of CQS/SRA compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Commercial mindset with strong experience in managing KPIs and financial targets.
  • Organised, proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
  • A team player with the ability to motivate and develop others.
