About the team This role is part of the core technology team, and will face off directly to the Credit Trading department management team. Job Summary: As the Head of Credit Technology, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of software solutions for our credit trading business. You will be responsible for building and leading a team of Credit software developers and quant analysts, guiding the team's technical direction, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of the business (built in house or integration of vendors systems). Responsibilities: Stakeholder Management: Organize & Translate Business Technical requirements into Technology solutions: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the credit trading business, including market dynamics, risk management, and regulatory requirements. Help define Technology development projects for Credit, working closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure alignment with business goals and objectives. Gauge the business needs for tactical versus strategic technology projects. Resource Management: Drive Technology resources across multiple Technology teams and functions: Manage the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Build and lead a team of software developers in player-coach capacity, setting performance expectations and providing regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement and growth. Establish and enforce software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing methodologies, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Work closely with external vendors to provide oversight and management bandwidth when necessary, assisting in project scoping and ensuring timely delivery of solutions while maintaining high-quality standards Technical expertise and Industry best practices : Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the team is leveraging the latest tools and techniques to deliver best-in-class solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Leverage Firm Resources to increase efficiency: Collaborate across the firm, within and outside Technology, to ensure that Credit delivers its Technology requirements by leveraging core s resources As part of the global engineering team, leverage and contribute to strategic technology platforms and strategy, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives and promoting the efficient use of resources including budget and vendor management strategic decision Work with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and technology, to ensure seamless integration of software solutions with existing systems and processes Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of software development experience, preferably within the financial (fixed income) services industry. Demonstrated success in project management & directing high-performing software development teams, with a minimum of 5 years of management experience. Strong knowledge of Credit products (government and corporate bonds and loans, convertibles, agency mortgages and other securitised products, CDS and credit indices and derivatives, credit ETFs) and trading processes, including trading technology, risk management, pricing, and trading strategies. Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks, such as Python, Java, C++, .NET, and JavaScript. Experience with database design and development, including SQL and NoSQL technologies. Familiarity with agile software development methodologies and tools, such as Scrum, Kanban, and Jira + Github Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions. Positive thinking and compromise-finding oriented. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
