We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Department for PE to join our client, a highly-regarded secondary school in Tower Hamlets, starting in September 2024. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary on the Inner London MPS/UPS scale.

• Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Curriculum Development: Develop and implement an engaging and comprehensive PE curriculum.
• Student Achievement: Monitor and support the progress of students to achieve their full potential.
• Staff Development: Provide professional development opportunities and support for PE staff.
• Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the department, including budgeting, resources, and facilities.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role.
• Degree in Physical Education or related field: Strong academic background in PE.
• Leadership Experience: Proven track record in a leadership role within a PE department.
• Outstanding Communication Skills: Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
• Commitment to Safeguarding: Demonstrated commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of students.
