Our client, based near Coventry, is a leading manufacturer of tooling and specialist equipment. We have been retained on their behalf to recruit a Head of Design Engineering.
The Head of Design Engineering role is a key leadership position in our clients business and is critical in driving business growth through development of their product portfolio.
To achieve this, the role requires a good understanding of industry developments and customer requirements in order to create innovative and effective machine and tooling solutions.
The role is primarily responsible for leading the Design team (currently 4 staff members) who produce designs, schematics, 3D models, technical manuals, and assembly drawings of tooling, other company OEM designed machinery, sub-contract work, and other products.
We are seeking an individual with;
Considerable design experience in an engineering business
Hands-on leadership experience
Experience of managing design projects of varying complexity, size, and budgets
Experience of designing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and software controlled machinery
Experience of using Solid Edge, AutoCAD or equivalent design tools
Blank canvas? Not quite. But youll certainly be given the remit and support to make the necessary changes in order to shape a really strong design function.
