Head of EngineeringLocation: Fully remote within the UK, expectations to visit London office every 6 months.Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 + Share schemeWe are currently partnered with a pioneering logistics company who are looking for a Head of Engineering to help set out their technical strategy and deliver a positive impact to the environment. The ideal person will be a hands-on ambitious leader, have a product-first mindset and the ability to make quick, impactful decisions. You will be working directly under the CEO, with a clear roadmap to grow into the future CTO.The ideal Head of Engineering will have successfully managed cross-functional engineering teams and worked collaboratively with a Head of Product. You will establish Agile and TDD environments to foster continuous innovation while maintaining team health and culture. It is also crucial that you remain hands-on in a start-up setting, driving architecture and tackling complex technical challenges within the team.Your Responsibilities:Oversee the daily engineering operation, ensuring alignment across all functions in tech.Manage the engineering team, coaching & mentoring while leading from a technical perspective.Be an advocate of engineering best practices such as TDD and XP.Ability to set out technology strategy against company vision and future roadmap for the company, working closely with business stakeholders.Your Experience:Proven commercial experience with Java, Spring, SQL, GCP & Terraform.3+ years managing a small engineering team.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant field.Experience with a start-up or scale-up.Desired logistics / transportation industry experience This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Engineering to apply their leadership and vision at a mission-driven company!Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications, not all applicants will receive feedback.
