Role Overview
:
As the Head of Engineering, you'll be at the forefront of operational excellence at 22 Bishopsgate. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that all engineering services, SMART systems, and energy management processes are not only effective but also continuously optimised for peak performance. You’ll lead a dynamic team, oversee complex technical operations, and drive initiatives that align with our sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
:
Technical Leadership
: Lead the engineering team in managing and maintaining the building's critical systems, including Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) maintenance, vertical transportation, and building fabric. You'll ensure that all systems operate seamlessly, meeting the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Operational Excellence
: Oversee the day-to-day operations of technical services, ensuring all services are delivered efficiently and within scope and budget. You will manage vendor relationships, ensuring that all partners meet JLL's contractual obligations and key performance indicators.
Compliance & Risk Management
: Ensure strict adherence to statutory compliance and health and safety regulations. You'll be responsible for mitigating operational risks, managing change control processes, and ensuring uninterrupted service at all times.
Energy & Sustainability Management
: Take charge of managing the building’s energy performance, with a focus on sustainability. You'll collaborate closely with SMART systems partners to optimise energy efficiency and lead initiatives that contribute to the building's sustainability goals, including future certifications like NABERS and Design for Performance.
Strategic Planning
: Work closely with the Head of 22 Bishopsgate, JLL's property management team, and key stakeholders to develop and implement long-term strategies for continuous improvement in service delivery, operational cost control, and risk management.
Stakeholder Collaboration
: Serve as the primary technical authority, liaising with internal teams, external consultants, and service partners. You’ll foster a collaborative environment that aligns with 22 Bishopsgate’s vision and drives innovation and excellence across the board.
Sustainability Leadership
: Lead efforts to integrate sustainability into all aspects of building operations. You’ll support the Property & Asset Management (PAM) team in developing and managing the ESG Management Strategy, ensuring that 22 Bishopsgate remains at the forefront of sustainable building practices
What We Need
:
Expertise
: A degree in Engineering (preferably Chartered status) with a deep understanding of health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and technical management.
Leadership
: Proven experience in leading and developing technical teams, with a track record of driving performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Communication Skills
: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders.
