A private equity backed business based in Northumberland are seeking a permanent Head of Finance to join the team, reporting directly to the Finance Director. Turning over �300m, this is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic qualified accountant to further expand their skills in a fast paced and growing organisation, with excellent benefits and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dealing with the annual financial statements and audit
  • Managing the financial controller who manages a small team of transactional finance staff
  • Reporting the rolling 12 week cash flow to the board
  • Annual budget preparation and control
  • Management of compliance for all of the taxes relating the business including international tax compliance
  • Lead plan and coordinate the project cost control
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Overseeing all financial activities, including accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting

Skills, experience and attributes required

  • Ideally from a chartered accountant background who has moved to industry, but will consider someone from just industry background
  • Sector experience - construction or similar project based knowledge, but will consider other sectors
  • Qualified - ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Strong previous experience working at senior finance level in a similar role
  • Excellent experience in bookkeeping and the fundamentals of preparing a set of accounts
  • Dynamic, switched on and fast paced
  • Able to react quickly to changes
  • Able to use own initiative and can pick things up quickly
