Role Overview:
As the Head of FP&A, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of the business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis, driving the budgeting and forecasting processes, and supporting strategic decision-making. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and the private equity backers to ensure the company’s financial goals are met and that we are well-positioned to achieve our growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the company’s financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modelling.
Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic planning, M&A activity, and capital allocation decisions.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis to drive business performance.
Collaborate with department heads and senior management to understand their financial needs and provide financial guidance and support.
Serve as a key business partner to the CFO, CEO, and private equity investors, offering financial expertise to influence strategic decisions.
Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and commentary on business performance.
Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial results to both internal stakeholders and external investors.
Work closely with the private equity backers to support due diligence, financial structuring, and integration of potential acquisitions.
Evaluate investment opportunities, including capital expenditure, product development, and market expansion initiatives, and provide financial recommendations.
Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, developing strategies to mitigate risks while maximising opportunities.
Ensure robust financial controls and processes are in place to safeguard the company’s assets and support business growth.
Lead and develop a small but high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Mentor and support junior team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to the FP&A function.
Key Requirements:
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a strong track record in FP&A, ideally within the technology sector.
Proven experience in a high-growth, private equity-backed environment is highly desirable.
Demonstrable experience in financial modelling, strategic planning, and business partnering at a senior level.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear, actionable insights.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
High level of proficiency in financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
Experience with financial planning software and ERP systems.
A strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and a focus on driving business performance.
Proactive, with a hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and develop a small team.
