As part of this growth, they are seeking an experienced General Counsel / Head of Legal with specialised expertise in Property Law. Job Description: Role Overview: My client is seeking a Head of General Counsel to lead the legal team in overseeing all legal aspects of our commercial property and EV charging business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial property law, particularly in retail and commercial land development, along with a passion for sustainable energy initiatives. Responsibilities: Develop and execute a comprehensive legal strategy aligned with business objectives. Provide leadership and guidance to the legal team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Ensure compliance with all legal regulations and requirements across the business. Oversee all legal aspects of retail and commercial land development projects, including site acquisition, leasing, permitting, and regulatory compliance. Lead and negotiate various real estate transactions such as leases, underleases, option agreements, deeds to achieve company goals and timelines. Conduct negotiations with stakeholders such as landlords, local authorities, and DNOs/IDNOs to complete projects within agreed timelines. Manage external legal teams and general counsel for outsourced legal matters. Qualification: Qualified solicitor with significant experience in commercial law, land development, and real estate transactions. Proven track record of leadership and strategic thinking, with the ability to drive legal initiatives and manage a team effectively. Expertise in retail and commercial land development, including site acquisition, leasing, permitting, and zoning. Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills, with the ability to manage complex transactions and mitigate legal risks. In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices in the UK. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and stakeholders. Experience in the EV charging, energy, infrastructure, or technology sector is preferred. & Real Estate Lawyer - Remote - London HQ - EV Charging - £60k to £80k My client is expanding their dynamic team in the rapidly growing EV Charging sector and searching for a Real Estate Lawyer. This is a chance to collaborate closely with our Real Estate Legal Head and General Counsel, alongside a seasoned team of developers and property specialists. We seek a proactive individual with prior experience in commercial property law, ideally within the energy/utilities sector. Real Estate Lawyer Remote £60k to £80k Key Responsibilities: Lead legal processes from Heads of Terms (HoTs) to exchange and completion Aid in drafting various agreements such as Leases, Sale Agreements, and Transfer Deeds Conduct thorough title due diligence, drafting Reports on Title and resolving related issues Advance substation legal matters Prepare Land Registry applications and commission property searches Manage post-exchange and post-completion formalities, including Land Registry registrations and SDLT Desired Skills: Proactive with strong communication abilities Capable of working both independently and collaboratively Previous experience in commercial property law, particularly within the energy/utilities sector Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail How to Apply: Please apply directly or send your CV to abbey.grahameverec.co.uk.
