If you've witnessed the transformative impact of platforms like Strava in sports, Alltrails in hiking, and Fishbrain in fishing, you'll understand the vast potential Birda has in filling a similar niche within the birdwatching domain.What we are looking forWe're looking for an experienced Head of Growth who's at the top of their game and has extensive experience growing app-based businesses. You have a track record of growing apps from 🐣to 🐔. You will play an instrumental role in growing the Birda user base, particularly as we grow in the USA. Increasing keyword rankings, organic downloads, optimising paywalls and revenue should be second nature to you.You thrive in fast-paced and dynamic environments. You have the drive, ambition and self-motivation to get things done to a high standard. You are comfortable working independently and you have experience in a start-up/scale-up environment. You'll be a vital part of our leadership team, working alongside the co-founders where your ideas not only matter but are crucial to our collective success. You'll be the only growth expert on the team to start with and will act as a sparring partner to the co-founders, challenging ideas, providing valuable insights, and driving our growth strategy forward, as well as presenting to the investment board.It helps if you've an interest in conservation and nature. You don't need to be a full-on bird nerd but outside should be your happy place.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Growth Management: Implement and optimise growth strategies tailored for app-based businesses in the USA market to increase Birda’s user base. This includes leading digital marketing campaigns across platforms like TikTok, Meta, Apple Search Ads, and Google Ads, focusing on systematic testing and optimisation of ad content.SEO and ASO Excellence: Drive improvements in keyword rankings and organic app downloads using innovative SEO and ASO strategies. Lead efforts to enhance our web content's visibility, including 11,000 web app pages and numerous topic-specific articles.Revenue Optimisation: Steer design and optimisation of paywalls and pricing strategies to maximise revenue and user engagement. Create and oversee referral programs that incentivise user growth through network sharing.Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse user behaviour data to identify opportunities for improvement and expansion. Compile, analyse, and present detailed marketing data to stakeholders, demonstrating impact and informing strategic decisions.Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with co-founders to refine business strategies and contribute to high-level decision-making. Mentor and set standards for future team members as the company scales. Prepare and present growth performance updates to the investment board.Innovation and Trend Monitoring: Stay updated with the latest marketing trends and technologies, applying innovative approaches to enhance marketing strategies and drive growth.RequirementsProven Leadership in Growth: Extensive experience in leadership roles within app-based or startup environments, with a strong emphasis on hands-on execution of marketing strategies. Demonstrated ability to grow businesses from inception to substantial market presence.Expertise in Digital Marketing: Comprehensive skills in digital marketing, including direct management of app-based campaigns, content creation, SEO, and user-generated content campaigns. Expertise in ASO, with a proven track record of improving app visibility and user acquisition.Strategic and Analytical Proficiency: Exceptional analytical skills, with extensive experience in data analysis and using insights to drive strategic marketing decisions. Strong strategic thinking skills, capable of fostering growth and profitability through data-driven decisions.Communication and Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively presenting to stakeholders and working closely with both external partners and internal teams.Adaptability and Motivation: Dynamic, proactive, and highly motivated individual who thrives in fast-paced and uncertain environments.
