Trinity House Group is pleased to be partnering with The University of Birmingham to recruit a Head of Income to join their central finance team. This is a leadership role within Transaction Services in which the post holder will work closely with the Head of Transaction Services and the Head of Payments who all play key roles in decision making, policy and strategy within Transaction Services.The Head of Income will provide leadership and management to the Billing (Sales Invoicing) Accounts Receivable (credit control) and Cash Management teams.The role is to manage, motivate and support the above teams in developing and monitoring the delivery of transaction services to the University and ensuring that each section has the resources; financial, operational and staffing, to maintain and improve the high quality of the delivery. The post holder is required to think strategically, analytically and creatively to improve the University’s financial position and contribute to ensure long term financial sustainability of the university. The Head of Income must have a detailed knowledge and experience of working in a complex transaction processing environment.
Main duties Develop and manage Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Cash Management Managers, overseeing about 20 administrative and support staff.Ensure Order to Cash (O2C) processes are efficient, effective, and user-centric, fostering a culture of continuous improvement towards best practices.Support the development of managers/team leaders with coaching and training, conducting staff development reviews and adhering to a learning and development plan.Evaluate service provision, recommend and implement innovative solutions to improve quality, efficiency, and continuity, ensuring long-term, sustainable improvements.Identify financial trends impacting the University, recommend and implement solutions, and ensure new systems are effectively integrated to maximize efficiencies.Support the delivery of the Mission, Vision and Values of Finance and its Strategy. Competency Requirements & Professional qualifications Set strategic direction, ensure collaborative approaches to resolution and lead through change. Able to generate innovative solutions in response to challenges to drive change in accordance with a defined strategy.
