Role Overview:
The Head of IT will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s IT strategy, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable technology solutions. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills. You will lead a talented IT team, manage key vendor relationships, and work closely with senior leadership to drive digital transformation and continuous improvement. You will take a hands-on leadership approach to inspire, motivate, and maximise the performance of a small team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company’s IT strategy to support business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, ensuring high availability and security.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, including cloud migration, cybersecurity enhancements, and process automation.
- Manage IT budgets, procurement, and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand technology needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Monitor emerging technologies and recommend their adoption to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role
- Strong technical background in IT infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies (Azure/AWS), and cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated experience in leading digital transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of IT governance, risk management, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, ISO standards).
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing IT budgets and vendor contracts.
- A strong collaborator with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of the organisation.
Desirable Skills:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CIO certification, ITIL, PMP, CISSP).
- Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools.
- Experience in change management and driving organisational change.

The Company:

Bluetree's combined office, production and training facilities are in Wath Upon Dearne, which is close to Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, and Doncaster.
