Head of legal @ International retailer

We are working with an international retailer who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Legal to join their team in the UK. Position Overview: The Head of Legal will be a key strategic leader within the team, responsible for overseeing all legal aspects related to technology initiatives. This role will involve managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing expert legal advice on technology-related matters. The successful candidate will work closely with the IT, digital, and commercial teams to support the businesses technological growth and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the legal aspects of the businesses technology initiatives, including cybersecurity and software licensing Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and other stakeholders on technology-related projects and partnerships. Ensure compliance with UK and international laws and regulations related to technology Draft, review, and negotiate technology-related contracts, including software licenses, vendor agreements, and service contracts. Develop and implement policies and procedures to manage legal risks associated with technology. Qualifications: Qualified solicitor in the UK with a strong background of practice and in house experience Extensive experience in technology law, ideally within a retail or consumer-focused environment. Proven track record of managing complex legal projects and providing strategic legal advice at a senior level. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
