Location : based in Edinburgh with occasional travel to office in Bristol. A regular presence in Edinburgh office is expected with some opportunity for hybrid working.
Salary : £70,000- £80,000 per annum (or pro-rata) + pension scheme and bonus
Contract type : permanent position, part-time or full-time this is a new position which reflects the growth of our organisation and as such we are open to considering how the role responsibilities are fulfilled in practice.We are therefore open to considering a range of contracted hours and to look at how the Head of People could be supported to deliver by the contracting of external services. Applicants looking for a part-time position will be considered on a pro rata salary basis.
SeeByte, the global leader in developing smart software solutions for uncrewed maritime systems, are looking for a Head of People to join the Executive Management Team in their Edinburgh office.This is a new opportunity and reflects the growth in our organisation which now employs 90 people across two different locations. We are looking to develop a sophisticated approach to people management which reflects that our employees are our greatest asset.
You will be responsible for delivering strategic leadership by developing and executing our human resource strategy in support of our Growth and Delivery roadmaps. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior HR executive to work in a team that understands the value of their people whilst also having the autonomy to develop the business and implement meaningful change.
This is a standalone role and the successful applicant will be expected to lead, manage and deliver outcomes through personal endeavours and appropriate partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Develop a HR strategy which aligns with our business goals and long-term development plans
Lead the programme for cultural transformation that will continue to foster high-performance, positive and inclusive work environments that align with SeeBytes values
Develop and implement strategies to manage the career development of our people and plan for succession
Bring new thinking and ideas to our approach to recruitment, reward and recognition that enable us to effectively attract, assess and onboard the talent we need for future success
Define, lead and implement initiatives that enhance our peoples engagement, performance, satisfaction and retention
Develop and implement strategies that seek to enhance Line Management capability and people management skills
Provide expert advice to the Executive Management Team on all HR related matters
Ensure all HR policies and processes reflect best practice and comply with UK law and regulations including maintaining a forward outlook for upcoming regulatory change
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Strategic Leadership: strategic leadership skills with experience of developing and aligning HR strategy in line with business requirements
People Management Expertise: an excellent knowledge of key people processes, sector trends and UK employment legislation
Change Management: experience of leading and delivering successful transformational organisational-level change
Emotional intelligence: ability to empathise with others to create a supportive and inclusive environment which values diversity
Interpersonal skills: an effective listener with excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to inspire, motivate and influence others
Coaching and Facilitation:an effective coach with strong facilitation skills used to empower others and build people management capability
Risk Management: effective management of HR related risk and definition of appropriate mitigation strategies
An accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), or a degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or Business-related subject.
