Head of Physics

We are seeking to employ an inspirational and forward-thinking Physics specialist to lead our thriving Physics Department .  The appointment provides the opportunity to teach well-motivated, hard-working and high achieving pupils at KS 3, 4 and 5.
All pupils study the main three sciences separately through to GCSE. Almost all pupils prepare for the higher tier papers. At A Level, the students follow the OCR Physics specification.
In years 1 & 2 (NC years 7 & 8) Churcher’s has developed its own Physics course which follows the requirements for Key Stage 3 but attempts to stretch our pupils further. This course is regularly reviewed and updated, and you would lead this process.

Develop and deliver an engaging and rigorous Physics curriculum across Key Stages 3 to 5, including GCSE and A-level.
Oversee the planning, teaching, assessment, and progression of pupils, ensuring outstanding academic outcomes.
Provide dynamic and supportive leadership to departmental staff, including mentoring and professional development.
Ensure the effective use of practical work and laboratory resources to enhance learning.
