Role purpose
In this new and exciting role you will use your knowledge and experience to combine art with science to manage the Bank’s lending portfolio of bespoke property-backed loans.
Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will manage GBB’s lending portfolio and assist GBB deliver key business objectives.
As Head of Portfolio Management you will find yourself:
Managing the Lending Portfolio team.
Managing, monitoring & overseeing the Lending portfolio’s post-lending activities and loan maturity strategies.
Working closely with front-line relationship teams with the management of post-lending in-life loan activities and subsequent reporting of key performance metrics to CCO and appropriate committees.
Managing the credit relationship for customers classified as Watch or Recoveries and mitigate the risk to the Bank as well as minimise provisions and maximise recoveries in a capital efficient manner.
Support the risk and front-line relationship teams throughout the Collections process to ensure customers supported appropriately and Business Support Policy is followed.
Lead Watch and Recovery customer relationships whilst demonstrating a range of recovery and restructuring techniques across the portfolios to reduce risks and align portfolios to the risk appetite.
Analysing complex important customer/business metrics/problems and finding solutions to them.
Working collaboratively and constructively with others in risk and front-line relationship teams to ensure mutual satisfaction and continued growth whilst able to demonstrate independence.
Responsibility for continual implementation, maintaining and improving relevant systems & Policies.
Skills and experience - you are/will have most of the following:
Significant proven experience in credit risk, collections and workout roles across financial services and Specialist Mortgage banking.
Extensive experience of working with senior executives and the ability to influence outcomes.
Strong awareness of the regulatory framework including Conduct and Compliance requirements.
Proven analytical skills with a strong working knowledge of risk control systems, processes and reporting.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with clients who are facing stressed trading conditions.
Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to communicate effectively with both risk and front-line relationship teams.
Evidence of balanced and independent judgement with a proven ability to drive change.
Strategic interest and vision.
Exceptional problems solving skills.
Strong financial acumen and expertise in project finance, risk management, and financial modelling, Loan & Debt servicing.
Ability to multitask and prioritise projects.

What else do I need to know?
Location:
London-based (hybrid working)
Salary:
£90,000 - £105,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
Hours:
35 hours per week
