About the role and the team As head of analytics and operations, you are responsible for crafting and implementing pricing strategy and framework for eBay's European markets. You will write new playbooks, tear up old playbooks, and continuously uncover strategic opportunities to enhance value and adoption while streamlining and simplifying our pricing and monetization models. You will be responsible for ensuring the fees charged to our sellers are simple, transparent, and crafted to accelerate seller growth. We are passionate about continually improving the ease of doing business on eBay. You will lead and develop a team of pricing analysts who formulate innovative monetization strategies to keep up with the ever-evolving ecommerce landscape. At eBay's extensive scale we compete simultaneously against hundreds of marketplaces ranging from small, category specific players to the largest marketplaces in the world. As you drive pricing excellence across eBay, you will collaborate with numerous partners, including Category Management, Product Management, Finance, Engineering, Analytics, and Legal to align policies, economics, and operational efficiencies. Your product is the eBay monetization engine, which is a huge part of defining our brand and value proposition to our sellers. What You'll Accomplish Be responsible for the monetization engine: Assess gaps and market size of potential solutions, analyze competitive landscape, incorporate financial and operational metrics, architect test strategies and drive go-to-market Define pricing strategies: Develop pricing strategies that balance both immediate goals and long-term vision of the North America business for core and emerging value propositions Drive the roadmap: Develop roadmaps for pricing, promotions, and incentive products. Optimize and evolve current pricing structure to achieve monetization and growth across our most up-and-coming and mature categories. Ensure success of both sellers and buyers on the platform Collaborate: Manage monetization projects end-to-end working closely with category, payments, product, marketing, legal and finance Lead and strengthen the team: Coach and develop a team of pricing analysts, who build pricing and elasticity models to forecast monetization changes and also implement the pricing changes Be accountable: Define business objectives and measure progress in achieving results; demonstrate strong dedication towards goals and driving sophisticated projects focused on seller success, platform economics, customer experience, and long-term success What you will Bring Seeking a dynamic leader with over 5 years of ecommerce or related industry experience, who excels in building and motivating high-performing teams, setting and achieving ambitious goals, and maintaining strong partnerships. The ideal candidate communicates effectively, takes initiative, and uses data to get results. They are a strategic problem solver with a track record of managing multiple priorities independently and with integrity. Comfortable with presenting to stakeholders, they bring expertise in online retail and understand the role of design and research in user experience. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field with substantial analytics experience, or an MBA with relevant experience. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python), with a deep understanding of data warehouse architecture. Demonstrated ability in developing pricing systems and strategies in marketplace or SaaS businesses. Experience leading teams and delivering projects from conception to execution in a collaborative environment.
