Head of Procurement - Meat Industry

The new Head of Procurement will play a central role in sourcing and selecting the finest quality meat products, supporting the organisation in achieving its commercial objectives. The Role:
Procurement Leadership: Oversee the sourcing of meat proteins, ensuring that only the highest-quality products make their way to our customers. Upholding the standards for which Scotland is renowned, you’ll ensure all supply levels meet the demands of the business across domestic, trade, and export channels.
Collaboration and Supply Management: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to maintain a steady supply of premium meat products. Your work will support the smooth operation of our business, ensuring the availability of goods across various markets.
Driving Profitability: Take ownership of the yield improvement strategy, enhancing profitability by optimizing processes and reducing waste—ensuring every cut counts towards the company’s financial success.
Industry Engagement: Stay connected with suppliers and maintain a pulse on market trends, ensuring the business remains competitive and forward-thinking, reflecting the innovation that Scotland’s industries are celebrated for.
Supplier Performance Monitoring: Oversee daily reporting on supplier delivery performance, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of procurement needs.
Support for NPD: Collaborate with the Senior New Product Development Chef, sourcing the best ingredients to support the creation of innovative products that reflect both tradition and modern taste.
The Candidate:
A solid educational background relevant to the role.
Extensive experience within the meat industry, with strong commercial knowledge and supplier management expertise.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with internal systems such as Nav.
Proven negotiation skills, reflecting your ability to secure the best possible outcomes in supplier relationships.
