Head of Product Design Salary £70-80,000 + benefitsLocation: West MidlandsYou will have experience manager and leader of people within the Product Design and NPI launch environment and as the ‘go-to’ person for other departments you will be able to protect the design intent throughout the execution phase of the project to successful market launchDuties/Responsibilitieso Manage & lead the design & NPI team in the creation of innovative and market-leading products from concept to market launcho Develop and manage design workload and deliverableso Collaborate with marketing, engineering, manufacturing and marketing teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with market needs o Oversee the development of design prototypes and coordinate testing to validate design conceptso Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company quality guidelineso Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and technological advancements to inform design decisionso Mentor and develop a team of designers and NPI projects, fostering a creative and collaborative work environmento Present design concepts and progress updates to senior management, board members and stakeholdersPersonal Specificationo HND/ Degree level qualification, ideally Product Design Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineeringo Proven people management experience in a product design & development and project launch environmento Experience in the consumer goods, household appliances, fenestration or similar high volume FMCG product development o Experience in plastic manufacturing processes, product assembly & toolingo Ability to motivate your team to identify, solve, implement and verify technical solutions autonomouslyo Creative and positive attitude with an inquisitive natureThe opportunity:This is an excellent opportunity for a Product Design Manager or Principle Engineer with proven leadership & management experience to be part of an international brand with continued investment strategy to innovate and launch new products every year, In return our client is offering a fantastic salary plus benefits package to include contributary pension scheme, life assurance, medical insurance, onsite car parking, 33 days holiday, bonus scheme, excellent training and career development opportunities.
