We are looking for A Head of Department for our Culture, Artistic and Live Events division (9 months maternity Cover) to join our London Studio team and oversee the production of large-scale installations and events. The right candidate will be a seasoned production lead, responsible for the overall management, mentoring and development of the department. They will have a good understanding and background of the content production process for 2D & 3D animation, motion graphics for projection, screen and interactive technologies. They are directly responsible for the line management of producers and project managers within the department and by extension the delivery of all projects to budget, scope, schedule and creative expectations. They will have significant experience in managing and building client relationships and pitching for new projects. The right person will be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple projects and priorities at once. Key Responsibilities: Team Department Management: Line Management of Line Producers and Project Managers within the department, including regular check-ins and performance reviews Identifying training plans and CPD opportunities for the department in consultation with individual team members Active recruitment planning for department on both a project and departmental level Liasing with the Director of Production to plan and forecast the resourcing for staff time allocations over the year Client & Partner Management: Client & Partner Relationship development - maintain client relationships with existing client and accounts as well as developing relationships with new clients and partners To act as the client escalation point for all relevant projects within the department Sales Integration: To work with Directors and other Heads of Department to develop pitches and proposals for the division Networking and identification of new opportunities with new clients Sales & Markets (Projects) Evaluation & Review Client Retention Strategy Sustainability: To work interdepartmentally to ensure sustainability standards and goals are met both operationally and on a project level. Project & Department Management: Project Onboarding: Set up of new projects including working with other Heads of Department to build teams for the projects, create strategy for delivery and set internal and external objectives for the team Develop project processes to be more efficient and streamlined as required Project Controls: To act as the main point of responsibility for risk management on all projects, steering team members for appropriate action as required Quality Assurance across our processes and project delivery Act as an escalation point for clients and team members, steering emerging project risks Project finance controls: To be responsible for the responsible management of project budgets within the department Ensuring financial strategy on all projects adheres to company goals and guidelines Maintaining project margins and risk managements Reconciliation and reporting to Directors on the status of project budgets Contractual controls: Responsible for contractual management including but not limited to: Client contracts Project Team contracts (Freelancers and third parties) Production team Contracts To ensure that all contracts are maintained and updated for specific projects as required and adhere to best industry practice. Essential Experience: Approximately 5+ years experience in the creative industries in producing and/or project management-specific roles, should have at least 3+ years experience in leadership roles. Experience of producing and developing projects within the immersive creative industries on project budgets above £2M Demonstrable experience of project success and track record Experience line managing team members and developing team Key Qualities: A passion for storytelling and developing new concepts Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills Ability to work across multiple projects at different stages of development Ability to work under pressure Confident verbal and written communication and presentation skills Attention to detail and accuracy on all project work Creative problem-solving skills Experience or an interest in multi-disciplinary work, including animation, live events, theatre and experiential events Ability to work in our London Bridge office when not working remotely Enjoying being a part of a team, and collaborate with multiple disciplines Bonus Experience: Project management software - Wrike Experience in producing in different territories is a plus, especially North America, China and EMEA.
