About the Role: The Head of Psychology will play a crucial role in overseeing and developing psychological services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and outcomes. This leadership role will work in close collaboration with the senior management team, ensuring that both professional practice and the quality of the psychology department remain at the forefront of service delivery.
The successful candidate will be a confident leader, able to provide professional guidance and support to the psychology team, while contributing to the strategic direction of the service. Your expertise will also be instrumental in the reconfiguration and development of the service to ensure excellence in psychological care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership to the psychology department, ensuring high standards of clinical care.
* Develop and implement psychological interventions, including individual formulations, psychological assessments, and therapeutic services (EMDR, DBT, CBT, and CAT).
* Collaborate closely with the senior management team on service development, patient outcomes, and organisational initiatives.
* Advise on the psychological aspects of organisational functioning, including the well-being of colleagues.
* Contribute to reflective practice groups and service-related standards, including clinical governance.
* Manage a clinical caseload, ensuring a psychologically informed approach to care for patients with complex needs.
What We're Looking For:
* Qualified Consultant Psychologist with extensive experience in a forensic setting.
* A confident leader with the ability to support, guide, and develop others.
* Expertise in psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions, such as EMDR, DBT, CBT, and CAT.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with senior management.
* A commitment to service development and trauma-informed care.
* Strong consultancy skills and experience managing clinical and organisational projects.
