The Head of Purchasing role is a pivotal position within our FMCG firm, responsible for leading the Procurement & Supply Chain department. The successful candidate will manage, plan and coordinate the procurement of materials from domestic and international sources.

Description

  • Develop purchasing strategies and oversee their implementation.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.
  • Examine and test existing contracts and partnerships.
  • Track and report key functional metrics.
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.

Profile

A successful 'Head of Purchasing' should have:

  • Proven working experience as a procurement manager or head of procurement in the FMCG industry.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in reading the market.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
  • Experience in collecting and analysing data.
