The Company
This leading manufacturing engineering company based in Gloucestershire has entered a sustained state of growth and business process improvement and is seeking to augment the leadership team with an experienced Head of Quality.
The Role
Reporting to the COO, the Head of Quality will be responsible for leading all aspects of organisational Quality management, including the Quality Management System and compliance to AS9100 Rev D / 9001:#####. Responsibilities include:
Overseeing the quality control of all products through the manufacturing value stream.
Managing the testing and validation of all products.
Ensuring adherence to customer specific requirements and standards.
Overseeing all aspects of Process Engineering, including production process design and optimisation, tooling management, and production process control design and management.
Managing a team of Senior Engineers, Quality Engineers, Process Engineers, Laboratory Technicians, and Inspection teams.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Quality and Process Leader from a complex manufacturing engineering environment (Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, etc.). Key qualifications include:
Experience with AS9100 Rev D / ISO9001#####5 certification.
Knowledge of AS9102 FAIR requirements.
Experience in managing inspection and laboratory processes.
Detailed knowledge of the APQP approach, including PPAP, PSW, etc.
Familiarity with Control Plans, PFMEA tools, and time study methodologies such as MOST, Yamazumi charts, and Value Stream Mapping.
Ability to read and interrogate engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Strong leadership skills to manage a team of Quality and Process experts while representing quality to customers and suppliers.
