Head of Safety and Premises Management
Achieving for Children (AfC) is looking for a Head of Safety and Premises Management, who will ensure the safe operation of our premises. This postholder works alongside other support service teams to secure compliance with all statutory and best practice health & safety requirements as well as working to ensure an effective premises management function.
About the role
The Head of Safety & Premises Management oversees facilities management issues across all AfC buildings. As Head of Safety and Premises Management, you will be responsible for:
Ensuring that strategies and plans are in place to achieve compliance with health & safety best practice and regulations across all AfC locations
Supporting and training officers with facilities management responsibility to discharge their roles effectively
Managing external premises / health & safety arrangements including building leases and commissioned support
Proactively and reactively managing health and safety issues
Managing the Safety and Premises Management Officer
About you
To be the Head of Safety and Premises Management, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following:
A proven track record as a successful strategic leader; leading, managing and improving services
Experience of building and maintaining strong working relationships and co-producing solutions to challenges across a diverse set of stakeholders
Ability to design frameworks and policies to ensure a consistent and compliant approach to premises related issues
Experience of monitoring and managing premises / facilities management issues across multiple locations
Experience of managing health & safety functions, monitoring compliance and delivering improvements
The postholder will be required to travel between AfC buildings across Kingston, Richmond and Windsor and Maidenhead boroughs and therefore a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. The nature of the role requires that the majority of the working week is spent on site in our boroughs.
