Overview:

Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialist, adapted heavy goods vehicles used in the municipal waste sector. Their products are regarded to be at the top end of the market in terms of quality and innovation. As they continue to grow off the back of strong sales performance, they are now looking to appoint a new Head of Sales who will ultimately hold accountability for setting and implementing sales strategies for the field based sales team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the sales strategy to its full potential and engineer initiatives and solutions that deliver new business opportunities.
  • Manage a teams of sales professionals covering geographical regions and ensure that the strategy is understood and delivered by them.
  • Lead, mentor and develop sales team members to deliver their best performance.
  • Engage with the customer base to raise further awareness of product offerings and provide exceptional pre and post sales support.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, sales data and customer preferences to identify opportunities for sales growth.
  • Prepare sales reports and analysis and communicate projections with senior leadership.
  • Oversee sales operations from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
  • Ensure accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management and reporting.


Person Specification:

  • Preferably with industry experience or closely aligned industry experience in selling high value, quality capital equipment and solutions to customers in the municipal and private waste sectors or similar.
  • A track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Preferably proven success in managing a sales team but you may also be a well-established sales person with aspirations to move into sales management.
  • Excellent communication and motivating skills with an ability to engage effectively with customers and internal reports alike.
  • Organised and meticulous when it comes to reporting, monitoring and presenting aspects around sales performance.
  • Able to travel around the country and effectively manage a field based team.
