London As a Barclays Head of Sanctions, Private Bank and Wealth Management, you will lead a team providing subject matter expertise. You will support the aligned business providing guidance and input into the design, effectiveness of the framework, analyse and advise on complex business initiatives, whilst building solid partnerships to support first line of defence operational areas ensuring compliance with Sanctions Standard. You will monitor and managing controls associated with sanctions and promote a culture of risk control across the business. What will you be doing? Providing accurate, timely and balanced advice on U.S., U.K., U.N., and E.U. sanctions, the Sanctions Standard and Restricted Activity Matrix to stakeholders Maintaining a detailed knowledge and understanding of the sanctions control framework and driving effective oversight over it by a variety of means Supporting and leading as delegate for the Director, Global CIB Sanctions Oversight across function-wide initiatives, as necessary Leading SLOD Sanctions involvement in strategic initiatives (e.g. programmes of business-wide control enhancements), where applicable Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the law and practice of all US, UK, EU, and UN sanctions regimes, as well as financial industry implementation practices Building trusted relationships with the business and relevant Compliance teams What we re looking for: Excellent working knowledge of OFAC, HMT, EU, UN and other jurisdictional sanctions laws, regulators, regulatory expectations and industry best practice Experience recently working at a financial institution within a sanctions advisory role and experience with demonstrating excellent leadership and operational management skills Solid grasp of the Private Bank and Wealth Management business and product set Subject Matter Expert with respect to Sanctions Standard, and demonstrable understanding of controls operated within businesses to comply with its requirements Skills that will help you in the role: Experience leading a team within a highly regulated environment, with a sound understanding of the current environment and key issues within financial services Sound understanding of sanctions screening and programme oversight A proven track record in co-ordinating business-wide assessment of sanctions risk and related controls effectiveness Exceptional advisory skills with the ability to consistently make sound decisions through a combination of analysis, business acumen, and judgment Where will you be working?In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as: a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and it is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
