DescriptionJob Summary: Head of SHELocation: SteppsReporting To: ESD COO (Line), GT Head of HS&S (Functional)Function: SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental)Purpose of the Role:The Head of SHE will lead and manage all SHE aspects for the ESD Joint Venture, developing and executing strategies to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. This role is vital for driving continuous improvement, managing performance, and aligning with both ESD and parent company SHE strategies.Key Responsibilities:Cultivate an inclusive SHE culture within ESD.Develop and assure the SHE strategy, focusing on continual improvement and strategic growth.Manage the SHE Management System in alignment with various requirements.Implement SHE initiatives and engage with key stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.Lead and develop the SHE team, promoting learning and operational excellence.Own and report on SHE strategy and performance metrics.Drive improvements in SHE practices and mitigate related risks.Key Relationships:Collaborate with all ESD departments, partners, regulatory bodies, and industry organizations.Required Competencies:Proven ability to develop and deliver successful SHE strategies.Strong leadership and organizational transformation skills.Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.Analytical problem-solving capabilities.Experience:Previous leadership in SHE functions in regulated markets like infrastructure or water.Experience in coaching teams for high performance and delivering SHE outcomes in project environments.Qualifications:Relevant qualifications and memberships (specifics not listed).Valid driver’s license for occasional travel within Scotland.Management Structure:Responsible for 4 direct reports and the wider SHE organization.Limited authority in personnel and financial decisions, operating within ESD policies.This role is a strategic position within the senior leadership team, emphasizing safety and environmental excellence across operations.
