Detailed job description and main responsibilities Key Task and Responsibilities Be a member of the Oxleas Community Mental Health Management Team and, together with other senior managers and professional, play a key role in the development of policies and business plans. Provide professional advice on the statutory duties relating to social care under the Mental Health Act 1983/Mental Act 2007 and other relevant health and social care legislation. To lead and overall responsibility for Mental Health Social Care services within Oxleas. To ensure that all health and social care staff across Bromley teams have due regards to social care issues and that policy and guidance reflects this perspective. To develop work practices and procedures that enable responsive, timely and cost-effective services. Will represent Bromley at MAPPA meetings where required. Ensure safeguarding is championed across Bromley services. Link with other Heads of Service across the ADASS region. Person specification Education/Qualifications Essential criteria Appropriate social work qualification Current HCPC registration Appropriate management training/qualification or equivalent proven work experience within a social work setting Doctorate level or equivalent management qualification or equivalent experience. Experience Essential criteria Significant senior level experience of delivering clinical/social care services. Experience of multi professional collaboration at a senior level. Experience of working collaboratively with other organisations. Knowledge and Skills Essential criteria An understanding of the principles of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding procedure and other relevant legislation and guidance.
