Head of Strategic Supplier Management – Engines

A leading Group of Airlines is looking for a "Head of Strategic Supplier Management – Engines”, to be located in London or in Madrid.Purpose of the roleThe role is responsible to champion stakeholder engagement at the forefront of interactions between the operating company and Group Procurement for the category of Engines.Act as the primary liaison for senior stakeholders within the operating company, addressing all procurement-related matters for the business.Provide essential support for strategic advisory functions and initiatives, including comprehensive responsibilities in engines planning, sourcing, and risk management.Function as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders within the operating company, serving as a pivotal liaison for all procurement matters related to the business.ResponsibilitiesAct as the principal interface between the operational company and Group Procurement of Engines, overseeing demand management and directing requests.Demonstrate outstanding stakeholder management within the assigned operating carrier.Anticipate the management of supplier risks with the aim of safeguarding both the operating company and the Group against potential financial, operational, and reputational repercussions.Utilize outstanding supplier market and industry knowledge to identify opportunities for supplier savings.Develop effective working relationships with key interfaces across Group and Operating Companies, including Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders.Participate actively in cross-departmental strategic and leadership activities related to the business/organizational area in scope.Qualifications Educated to degree level in aircraft engine (MRO/OEM) finance, business, or a related field, supported by an appropriate professional qualification.Particular experience in specific engines procurement within the aviation industry would be valuable.Experience At least 15 years of experience in the engines domain with a proven track record.
