A leading Group of Airlines is looking for a "Head of Strategic Supplier Management – MRO”, to be located in London.Purpose of the roleThe role is responsible to champion stakeholder engagement at the forefront of interactions between the operating company and Group Procurement for the category of MRO.Collaborate seamlessly with assigned business areas and Operating Carrier/s.Ensure the delivery of effective, timely, robust, and compliant supplier cost-saving targets.Support the business in strengthening supplier governance and unlocking supplier value to contribute to the Operating Carrier and Group objectives while maximizing the Group’s buying power.Outstanding MRO supplier market knowledge, providing benchmark and market insights to deliver strategic advisory to the business/Operating carrier and Procurement, including benchmarking, sourcing, and risk management.Act as the primary liaison for senior stakeholders within the operating company, addressing all procurement-related matters for the business.Provide essential support for strategic advisory functions and initiatives, including comprehensive responsibilities in MRO planning, sourcing, and risk management.Function as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders within the operating company, serving as a pivotal liaison for all procurement matters related to the business.ResponsibilitiesAct as the principal interface between the operational company and Group Procurement of MRO.Demonstrate outstanding stakeholder management within the assigned operating carrier.Regularly identify and liaise with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the delivery of the operating company’s supplier costsaving targets.Provide appropriate challenge and persuasive abilities for new initiatives while maintaining excellent stakeholder focus. Offer support, advice, and a 'can do' attitude that balances stakeholder requirements with proportionate risk management.Anticipate the management of supplier risks with the aim of safeguarding both the operating company and the Group against potential financial, operational, and reputational repercussions.Build a solid foundation to raise and successfully resolve claims with suppliers, both contractual and extra-contractual.Utilize outstanding supplier market and industry knowledge to identify opportunities for supplier savings.By collaborating with the Group Head of MRO and MRO category team members, enhance the robustness, effectiveness, and compliance of supplier performance management.Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to the governance principles established by both the Group and the Operating Company.Develop effective working relationships with key interfaces across Group and Operating Companies, including Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders.Participate actively in cross-departmental strategic and leadership activities related to the business/organizational area in scope.QualificationsEducated to degree level in aircraft engine (MRO/OEM) finance, business, or a related field, supported by an appropriate professional qualification. Ability to demonstrate strong industry and supplier market knowledge in the assigned MRO domain.Particular experience in specific MRO procurement within the aviation industry would be valuable.ExperienceAt least 15 years of experience in the MRO domain with a proven track record.
