Head of Strategy and Assets £80,000 - £85,000 plus benefitsLocation: Kidlington, Oxfordshire (hybrid with travel across the portfolio)Thames Valley Police (TVP) is the largest non-metropolitan force in England and Wales and has a substantial portfolio spread across the three counties of Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. The Force polices a wide variety of locations, including major towns and cities, such as Oxford, Reading and Milton Keynes, as well as extensive rural communities and a number of thriving market towns.The Force has a significant and diverse property portfolio of some 140,00 sqm. comprising of a variety of property types including police stations, residential accommodation, training facilities, industrial assets, and various specialist facilities.Reporting to the Head of Estates, the Head of Strategy & Assets is a key member of the Property Services Department’s Senior Management Team with overall responsibility for the Force’s asset management strategy. Responsible for the property retention strategy and rolling property disposal and replacement programme, in addition to space utilisation strategy, the appointed candidate will pro-actively engage key partners to develop relationships and identify collaborative estate opportunities. The Head of Strategy & Assets will hold direct responsibility for specific complex and strategic transactional casework, involving the development and review of business cases for major estate change. Key projects include: Central Oxfordshire Estate Strategy – incorporating the replacement and transformation of several key sites, the continued review of the force’s Asset Management Framework and retaining a focus on income generation opportunities through developer contributions (working closely with the Strategic Growth Planner).This is a challenging and rewarding role with a force-wide remit and diverse range of responsibilities. A commercial mind-set and the ability to build strong and trusted relationships, both internally and externally will be key to the success in this highly influential role. The appointed candidate will need to combine a strategic approach, with strong attention to detail.
