Head of Talent Development - Retail and E-commerceLocation – London with UK and European travel (Hybrid)Salary: £90-130,000 + car allowance + bonus + LTIPS + corporate benefitsOur Client is a global retailer with strong core values which means the Learning and Talent Management agenda is key to their reputation and continued growth.You will serve as the primary leader in guiding enterprise-wide talent practices across the global enterprise, including Stores, Supply Chain, Corporate Headquarters. This pivotal role encompasses crucial functions such as performance management, succession planning, learning and development, leadership development, early careers development, organisational capability building and the employee engagement process. Serving as a trusted advisor to executive and senior leadership and HR business partners, you will make immediate and substantial impacts on both the front line population, leadership and the Company as a whole.The role:Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and delivery of performance management and talent development methods and processes, aligning them with the business objectives and values.Performance Management and Leadership Framework: Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the organisation's leadership and performance management framework, driving a culture of high performance and accountability.Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and manage stakeholders up to and including the C-suite, coordinating stakeholder engagement plans to ensure alignment with organisational goals and priorities.Partnership Development: Foster partnering relationships with senior executives throughout the organisation, building credibility and trust to provide high-quality guidance and support.Organisational Capability Building: Identify current and emerging business needs and prioritise development activities to build organisational capabilities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.Transformational Change Leadership: Lead the detailed design and delivery of substantial transformational change projects, driving acceptance of change and embedding the culture and behaviours.Standardisation and Quality Assurance: Lead standardisation activities to ensure workplace assessments meet internal quality standards, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.Strategic Planning and Implementation: Lead the development and implementation of strategy for a significant area of responsibility, anticipating challenges and opportunities to drive organisational success.Develop and implement talent management strategies, initiatives, and programs that support the development and retention of high-performing employees.Create and maintain a comprehensive talent development framework and infrastructure supporting the four pillars.Actively support the organisation's capacity to change and achieve greater effectiveness through planned preventions and interventions in the areas of change, culture and team health.Drive the design, development and execution of leadership, management and employee training and development programs to enhance skills, knowledge, and business performance.Oversee the design and implementation of talent development processes, including talent review & succession, executive coaching, mentoring and performance management.Ensure state-of-the-art delivery of all talent development services and offerings through robust operations management.Develop and implement employee engagement strategies to foster a positive work environment and enhance employee satisfaction and retention.Collaborate with leaders and managers to identify high-potential employees and create development plans to accelerate their growth and advance their careers.Design and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to foster a diverse workforce and promote an inclusive culture.Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent development and make recommendations for continuous improvement to drive organisational performance.Partner with senior leadership to align talent development strategies with business objectives and drive organizational change and transformation.The person:Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level of work experience, with a focus on Learning & Development, Leadership Development, Organisational Development, Talent Management or related field.Strategic Visionary: Progressive experience interpreting strategy and policy to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time frames.Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve extraordinary results.Project Management Expertise: Proficiency in project management software and methodologies, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.Strong leadership abilities to inspire and motivate others to achieve results.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Strategic thinker with the ability to design and implement talent development initiatives that align with organisational goals.Demonstrated experience in organisation development, learning & development, talent planning and talent development operations.Solid understanding of HR practices and employment laws.Proficient in using HRIS systems and talent development softwareStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyse data to inform talent management decisions.Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment and drive change within the organisation.Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of talent management.Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing talent development strategies and initiatives.Previous experience working with senior leaders & executives to drive talent development initiatives.Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse workforce and promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives.Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Proven ability to manage and lead change initiatives within an organisation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.If
