Head of Technical - Renewable Energy Development & Investment Platform

Pangea Talent Solutions has been retained by a global renewable energy development and investment platform which develops and invests in a wide range of utility scale energy assets focussed on solar PV, onshore wind and storage solutions. To support their rapid growth ambitions and long-term ownership of energy assets, they are looking to hire a Head of Technical who will be responsible for all technical aspects of their projects including leading a team of technical project managers and development managers that will work towards delivering their large-scale, grid-connected renewable energy projects across Europe. This will be from the development phase until the end of life which includes, due diligence, development studies, construction support and operations. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, particularly in Wind and Solar, battery storage would be a plus, and a strong background in engineering and project management. This is a London-based role with some travel required.THE ROLELead the Technical and Development team and an EPC Director, ensuring they’re supported in their daily roles to progress development projects, ensuring technical feasibility and assessments are conducted on time and on budget, due diligence for acquisitions to risk mitigate the deal, support construction and asset management teams on any technical topics.You have a particular strength in coaching and skills development. You’ll bring your expertise to bear, acting as a point of escalation, unblocking problems and providing guidance to help us continue to move fast.Oversee the technical design, engineering, and implementation of solar, wind and battery storage projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.Drive continuous improvement and innovation in technical processes and solutions, staying ahead of industry trends and advancements.Manage technical resources, including personnel, budgets, and equipment, to optimise project outcomes and efficiency.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project developers, engineers, consultants, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.Implement and oversee quality assurance processes, conducting technical reviews and audits to maintain high standards of project delivery.Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with project development and execution, ensuring robust contingency plans are in place.Conduct technical due diligence for new project opportunities and mergers and acquisitions, providing expert analysis and recommendations.You will know our projects inside and out and will make sure that both the company and their partners deliver according to the best standards.You will be accountable for all technical aspects for all projects and for all development projects ensuring quality progress and no deviation in budget and time occurred.You will be accountable with the EPC Director for all EPC contracts.Contribute considerable expertise to help build processes, tools and capability across the business so that we are able to meet our ambitious growth targets.THE CANDIDATEIdeally 15 years of experience within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar and wind projects.Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus.In-depth knowledge of solar PV, Wind and battery storage technologies, engineering principles, and industry standards.Proven track record of managing large-scale renewable energy projects from concept to completion.Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges effectively.Superior communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences clearly and concisely.Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proactive and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environmentIf this role sounds like a strong fit, then please apply within or reach out to me directly with your CV to organise an introductory call - #####
